Acupuncture works by increasing blood flow in the body.
What happens when you get a cut?? Blood will rush to the area to heal it.
Your body responds the same way to acupuncture. If an area of your body is injured blood will rush to that area to heal the area as blood carries everything we need to heal. Acupuncture is forcing the body to heal itself.
Example: Inflammation of a muscle- When a muscle is inflamed blood will get stuck in the muscle tissue causing swelling, redness, and pain. If we insert a needle in that area new blood will rush to that area washing away the old blood, reduce inflammation, and heal the tissue.
Acupuncture is not sensation-less. You may feel a slight pinch on insertion that should only last a second and some needles you won’t feel at all. Once the needles are in you won’t feel a thing except relaxed!
Acupuncture releases endorphins so many patients report feeling very calm and relaxed during treatment.
The needles used are solid, stainless steel, pre-sterilized, single use needles.
Acupuncture needles are very tiny! .16mm in diameter!
15 acupuncture needles fit into a hypodermic needle.
